Connect up the replacement button the same way the original button was wired.
Ring doorbell mechanical chime stopped working.
To check the voltage of your ring pro open the ring app select your ring pro and tap device health.
Therefore ensure that the microphone has been enabled on the device by going to the ring doorbell app and toggling the microphone button.
From here click on general settings and then doorbell chime type.
Now it should trigger the mechanical chime when you ring the doorbell.
If the issue persists you may need to replace the microphone.
If you don t find a broken wire remove the doorbell button by unscrewing it or prying it out of its hole with a putty knife.
The microphone on the ring doorbell may not be enabled and therefore you will not be able to receive and hear any sound.
Ring pro works fine for a couple of events and then stops working your ring pro requires a power source that supplies a minimum of 16 volts ac.
Unscrew the doorbell button and touch together the two wires fastened to the back.
Taking the wires at the door off the video doorbell and connecting them together for a brief second should sound your internal chime.
If the bell rings when you bypass the button replace the button.
Make sure mechanical is chosen in the drop down menu and that ring my in home doorbell is selected to on position to the right.
It s possible the chime kit may not be compatible with the doorbell 2 which is why it is not working consistently.
If the contact between the wires makes the bell ring then the button is broken and should be replaced.
If it chimes this means the chime kit is at least working and there is enough power to power the chime kit.
Connect the wires to the new button or doorbell switch just as they were connected to the old one.
