Next remove the strike latch screws on the edge of the door and remove the latch.

Use the flat head screwdriver to turn the spindle in the center of the door lock cylinder counterclockwise until it stops.
Tug on the knob and it will slide right off.
You should feel resistance as you turn the pliers.

Remove the spindle next you ll need to use your flat head screwdriver to turn the spindle of the lock.
Push the tip of a narrow blade screwdriver or nailset into the hole.
There will be a small lever that pokes out of the hole in your lock.
Remove them and slide the lock out of the door towards the outside of the door.
Grab onto this lever with a pair of pliers and twist your pliers clockwise to disengage the lock.
