Rekey Storm Door Lock

A viewer wanted to know how to re key a screen door cylinder so this video will look over how to change the combination to a new combination for screen door.

Remove the five set screws from the bottom of the key cylinder with a 1 5mm hex wrench. You cannot rekey a kwikset or sargeant lock to open with the same key as a schlage lock because different brands of locks have different size keyholes that only accept their own keys. Rekey as you would any regular kik cyl. Once the new pins are in reverse the steps to reassemble the lock.

Carefully remove the springs bottom pins and top pins from the key cylinder and set aside.
