Re Engage Garage Door Carriage

Grasp the handle on the inside of the door and slowly pull it up.

An emergency release cord on the garage door arm opens the trolley to allow you to disengage the garage door from the opener. Push the control button either on a remote or at the wall station to operate the garage door opener. At this point your garage door is re engaged. It s a good idea to use your remote to test it and make sure it s functioning correctly.

Once your garage door is completely open pull down on the quick release cord. You will also hear a click. Raise the garage door fully. Next up is reattaching the gear to the track.

This prevents the carriage from reconnecting to the opener rail trolley allowing full manual operation of the door. Trying to reengage your garage door opener with the door closed doesn t work. This action allows the carriage to reconnect with the trolley. Re engaging the garage door to the electric garage door unit.

It might be necessary to pull the door closed slightly to fully engage the trolley. If there is a manual lock you will need to disengage it before you open the door. To achieve the connected position pull the emergency release cord down and toward the door away from the motor. You ll know the trolley is re engaged when the door goes up and down on its own.
