The project was started as i only had one remote for my garage.
Raspi garage door module.
My garage door remote uses the cr2032 battery which is 3 3v and coincidentally the raspberry pi also has a 3v terminal which is right next to the 5v plug.
When i think of home automation with a raspberry pi controlling my garage door is the first project that comes to mind.
My target was to be able to control and monit.
Control garage motor from a smartphone or any device able to browse a webpage with ajax.
As soon as you turned on the relay button text will be changed close to turn off the relay.
Diy garage door opener with esp8266 module and rpi published on.
So i decided to build this myself.
Press open button to switch on the relay or to open the garage door.
Once you have raspbian up running and connected to wifi we want to install the garage door software.
Welcome to the 13th raspberry pi tutorial.
So you basically remove the battery on the remote and connect the on the battery compartment on the remote to the 3v on the pi.
You can also see the state of the relay.
The goal is to hook a raspberry pi up to my garage door opener set up some sensors to determine the state of the garage door and create a web page that will control it all.
Make sure the relay module is connected to raspberry pi.
How fun was it to buy a second one.
If you re connected to the pi directly with a screen and keyboard skip to the next step.
